I've been using many different plugins on my site over the years. This is the most practical way to clean up residual files in WordPress database. After cleaning, the database size went down to half.

Works well and easy to use

Great plugin - easily frees up space on the server and shows exactly what you are clearing so you don't accidentally destabilise your database and cause site issues. While there's plenty of functionality generously offered in the free version (and you can gain great benefit for your website just sticking with that), I am impressed enough to be upgrading soon to the paid version to get the extra features like detecting and deleting orphan options and deeper database cleanup to maximise performance on all my sites. I used the plugin to clean-up residuals from older versions of my website, where I was using a bunch of plugins that I deemed not necessary. After running the db cleaner, there was a very noticeable increase in the website's speed!

About a year ago, I was infuriatingly cut off by a censor on this site when I said Woocommerce changes your website (It does, and the installation says so — it chooses a theme, which wrecked my page layouts, easily fixable by saying noo! to woo and going back to my original theme — and it adds database tables, it adds cron jobs, and it adds the action scheduler if it's not already being used.) When I removed Woocommerce (not that it's bad, but I needed a simple subscription/membership plugin, not a full shopping cart), I did not know what it left behind: DOZENS of tables in the database, cron jobs, and orphaned this and that. Trash, in other words. Lots of it, and it's invisible if you're the sort who wants to just manage an Elementor website and not have look under the hood. I had to start looking under the hood when my new website, with no legitimate visitors, would crash from a mere attempt to edit a WordPress page, and I found, with a little help from tech support at the host that my site was having an abundance (which is bad) of entry processes, and memory use was spiking regularly — even when nothing, supposedly, was going on (other than regular visits seeking my nonexistent xmlrpc.php file by bots and crooks, another story). I discovered all this woocommerce trash and trash left by other removed plugins when I installed this fantastic plugin. It told me which of hundreds of lines of this and that was good and what was "orphans" (a polite word for trash). There were hundreds of "orphans" (that is, trash.) And it deleted all of them upon command. And now, within hours, my entry processes are down to just about zero when there are no visitors. Another recent post about it goes on at length about having to back up your website and database first. I see no need to go on at great length about that. Either you back up before using this great tool, or you're a great fool.

Essential plugin if you want to keep your site's database up to date. It is worth the premium version that offers the tools to keep the database clean.

I am using this plugin about two weeks it helps me best in deleting the all the trashed posts whether it is post, page, comment, topic, and reply. It also deletes the old data and orphan data of theme and plugin. works best with updraft plus for backuping and resotratin.

Saved my bacon

Saved so much time with this. I bought the PRO version and ran it through a problematic website that had more trouble in the db than I knew. Easy to spot suspect tables and entries and remove them. Easy to use. It just does what you want it to. LOVE IT.

It really does what it says.

Advanced Database Cleaner (I bought the Pro version) is worth its price many times over. For that money ($39 for 2 sites), the product does exactly what it claims - and it does it very well, possibly the best. I tried WP Optimize and this one is better. There's not much to overthink here - I recommend it. Of course, if you're a beginner - I have one word for you, and you should repeat it a thousand times: "I must back up the database before running any processes." But that has nothing to do with this plugin. When it comes to cleaning, this is excellent. One experience to share: we had FunnelKit Pro. The plugin is no good. After removing it and even after requesting a cleanup plugin from their support and running it - there was still residue and garbage left behind by FunnelKit. This plugin found all the orphan tables and every leftover option in the options and meta tables that that toxic plugin had left behind. Bottom line - I recommend it.

Has been essential for keeping my WordPress database clean and fast. Its interface is very simple, perfect for non-experts like me. I love being able to schedule automatic cleanups and choose which data to delete, from revisions to orphaned tables, which has greatly improved my site's performance. The support is also quick and very helpful. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to safely and easily optimize their WordPress. If I were to ask for one feature, it would be the ability to schedule backups and restorations of the database every hour or at custom intervals, saving them to a folder or the cloud, and not use other plugin for do this work.

Been using the pro version for quite a while and it's one of the most useful database cleaning plugin. Does the job quick and easy in few clicks it optimizes the tables, cleans outdated revisions, scans for orphan tables and cron jobs. Very reasonably priced pro version with lifetime pricing.

Optimising a WordPress database after a few years of cruft and deleted plugins and too many autoload options is a complete pain, but this plugin makes it so much easier. Fantastic support too, on the one occassion I needed it!

Works great on Multisites and Single installs

I've had owned the Pro version for almost 5 months when I purchased the 5 site license. I've used this plugin extensively on a Multi-site. I purchased it to help clean the database of Rows and options not deleted when I deleted several Plugins that I wasn't satisfied with. Today I upgraded to unlimited for Agency use. Essential tool for maintinaing DB integrity

Had accidentally set DB collation type to utf8mb3_unicode-ci instead of utf8mb4_unicode_ci. Ran queries on the DB to change the collation to utf8mb4_unicode_ci and then ran Advanced DB Cleaner and everything works very well now.

Cleared up critical error

On a site, the site health screen is reporting a critical error, about too many auto-load options, and says it will affect site performance. I found that the Advance DB cleaner was what was needed. I could set it to NOT autoload options and the critical error on the Site Health panel went away.

I had this plugin for awhile before finally digging into its features. Meanwhile System Health was telling me I had way too many autoloads, which I had no clue about. I took the time to see what ADC can do and was amazed when it helped me whittle down my autoloads to an acceptable size.

Supreme quality

This plugin is my father No, seriously. This plugin has made some things easier for me, and others not so much. I'll put it in perspective. The automatic cleaning function using scheduled dates is very good, but it really accumulates a lot of processing load. This on the one hand. On the other hand, LiteSpeed ​​Cache already has a function for cleaning the database. If they could link both plugins like Yoast SEO does with W3C Cache for example, it would be great. Finally, in the tables section, there are options that cannot be cleaned, unless you use MySQL directly (something that happened to me recently). For example, the plugin was unable to remove the Uncanny Automator benchmarks from the database. PS: In this case I had dependencies with WP Forms and another plugin. And even after removing it, Advanced Database Cleaner was not able to clean it. Apart from this part, the plugin itself is great, and it is one of my favorites. Obviously I will continue using it. The bad thing is that it has filtering functions in its Pro version, when it comes to tracking, they are basic functions that you can do in MySQL with a couple of commands. Although using your head a little, we all know how to use Control + F after setting the maximum number of elements per page 🤓

Solved my problem - thank you

I had really weird stuff happening when I made tons of edits to a single page - lots of the edits kept getting lost. WordPress keeps track of EVERY revision in its database. My lost edits were caused by too many revisions. I used Advanced DB Cleaner to discard old stuff after about 15 revisions - and it solved my problem.

Best database declutter tool I have ever tried (pro version)

as additional reference, I use Elementor as my primary page builder. I´m fairly new at building and maintaining a website (around 2-3 years), and to make a long story short, i initially messed up my whole site with this (treating the tool like a bull in a fine China shop), and somehow i had managed to look past the big red letters urging me to backup my database. It got a little messy after that, to say the least. Thankfully, I had made a spontaneous backup that was only 2 days old. After having restored my site and realizing it was most likely my own incomitance that was behind the ordeal, I gave it a new shot, with a fair amount of more care and consideration (and a fresh backup). and omg, the results where amazing, this tool is amazing, thank you so much for providing it with a lifetime license! (rather than in a subscription format) i will undoubtably recommend your work, whenever it feels relevant to do so P.S, Some maner of "estimated safety level" in the different labels of cleaning would be nice, while I understand that this might be very hard to estimate in a general manner.

Few can match this one. A necessary tool to clean ut rubbish, duplicates and things no longer used, from the database. Minor peculiarity on multisite: Can be activated on subsites, but does not show up, only on main site, and from there work for the whole network. Excellent Plugin - Worked Well

I kept receiving autoload notifications regarding my Site Health and needed to take action. I'm not a programmer, but I had to resolve this issue quickly and safely. I came across this plugin and was pleased to find that it did exactly what I needed. Not only did it clean up my database, but it also revealed many items that were still present in the database and were being autoloaded, which I had no idea were still there. For instance, there were files and tables lingering from previously removed plugins and themes, some of which were still being autoloaded. Again, I'm not an expert, so this is an excellent plugin for both novice and advanced users to tidy up their database.

I have gone through a decent amount of the tabs to remove problem coding lines and can't be happier. I plan to combat the Options Tab soon, it is a mess after 12+ years of modifications to the website.

This is a very good plugin for WPO. To keep the database cleaned. Reasonable price and good performance. The only bad point is it does not identify correctly tables and the plugins they belong to.

Much Needed

The beauty of WordPress is that it's open source in the sense that you can add plugins that augment the functionality of your sites in many different ways, however, over time, either through testing or logs, the databases can get bloated with data you simply don't need anymore. It's hard to determine or visualize that without a tool like this. The team is very helpful and the product is great. Highly recommend this for anyone who is working with larger sites as it helps optimize the site and reduces server costs.

Essential Plugin for WP

Essential plugin. I had used this years ago, then stopped. Then not sure why; I think due to server move, and custom templates setup. Came back, and remembered why so useful. Great solution for stuff like removing thousands of revisions, removing elements related to orphaned plugins who don't clean house on removal/delete, and the like.

I was looking for a plugin that would help me eliminate garbage databases and I finally found it. It helped me identify, learn and know what each thing is. Use phpadmin and this plugin. Honestly, I give it five stars and recommend it.

An older website with over 1400 revisions on the front page alone! I was able to select "Save the last ten days" and bingo! It was done in seconds. My site went from something like 9.8GB to 2.3. I am very pleased.

Works better than others

This actually works if you know your way around what you're deleting. The pro version is definitely worth the lifetime cost. I was able to get my database from 50gb to 1gb after it was bloated due to other plugins that don't do proper cleanup after deleting them.

It's a great help to keep your database clean

The plugin just simply makes my job easier, when I clean the SQL database. I used to do it manually in phpMyAdmin, but having additional information in the Pro version makes my job easier and safer. It doesn't recognize always the corresponding plugin when I delete data from wp_options, so it is better to be careful with it, but I also use Google search, chatGPT and Gemini to verify information.

Great plugin!

Finally a reliable plugin to keep your WP environment clean. Just make a backup copy of WP directory via Directadmin (in my case) in new tab. Cleanup WP directory with left overs from old plugins. Tables, options, etc. Good check if the site is working properly. I make a second backup copy. (I keep the old one, just in case off….) Great plugin!

I can't imagine how much this plugin helps me to clean my database and make my website super fast. It saved me a lot of time. I used a manual method to clean my database via PHPMYADMIN; it was super hard, and I missed a lot of unused tables and autoloading on my database, but with Advanced Database Cleaner , I can do it in 1minute., I have the PRO version, which I will keep using on all my websites all the time. An easy way to tidy the mess

After trying out various themes and plugins. This is a very helpful plugin when it comes to tidying up the mess left behind. I have also automatically installed it on my newer blogs.

Incredible time saver - a must have plugin

We had an issue with spam form submission that ran into the thousands, bloating the database and slowing down the site. After fixing the issues we used Advanced Database Cleaner to optimise the tables and remove over 1.8GB of redundant data. We will use this on all our sites from now on.

Very powerful

I've tried a few other database cleaners and they were good. Advanced makes it more intuitive to complete the action you want. I don't have to go digging through the UI to figure out how to do things.

Brilliant database tool plugin

I got this plugin because some specific plugins can bulk up the tables under the Options section in the WordPress database. No database plugin can filter tables such as orphans and categorise them as well as this one, which I find very helpful.

Good and useful plugin

I found the plug reliable and useful as I have a relatively large site at around 20k articles which had almost 100k revisions doing nothing so these were cleared away by this plugin which pleased me. Other dead stuff is also cleaned up. I would recommend the plugin.

Worked like a charm - cleaned what SG Optimizer didn't

I had a wp_options table that was over a GB. It had tons a transients, no idea if they were "expired" or how to tell. All woocommerce related database bloat. Lots of like Transaction Timeout and Zapier order notes transients. Why the Siteground Optimizer didn't clean them up I don't know, but they sent me a warning that my database was over the limit. Not knowing what else to do, tried this plugin and I think it reduced the size by like 90% or something crazy.

A better replacement for an optimizer plugin

I found this one after another had issue with vulnerabilities and lack of updating. This one seems much superior. I really like the interface with all its choices and details of what needs work. Nice work.

Each time you are saving changes, a new record is created in the database. When creating a website, you're saving for a yes or for no, and most of the previous records are becoming useless… When the website is ready, I use this great tools to delete all these records.

This is a superb cleaner, especially if you buy the pro version. It's well worth it.

Very useful

We're about to upload the site to the client's host. Before doing so, we used Advanced Database Cleaner to clean the database of any orphaned entries and leftovers from deleted plugins used while developing the site in the staging host. Leftover entries are classified based on the plugins that created them. Cleanup is straightforward.

Fantastic for old blogs and news sites

My site is a blog with more than 16 years, so, I had thousands of useless records.

Unbelievable tool!

Seriously a game changing tool. I use it all the time to clean up old tables and options. I also use a snapshot tool that creates duplicates, and this helps make sure they all get removed once unneeded. Just make sure to make a database, or full backup, and you can safely play with thinning out your database. Good for pros and beginners alike.

I think its the best plugin for DB management on the market.

This is a no-nonsense plugin that does what it says it does. The pro version with lifetime updates is the best. It's now part of every WordPress website I build and is the very first plugin I install. If you've ever had a bloated database and try and clean it up after the fact, it's a mess. Honestly, this should be part of WP core so that the DBs are categorized right from the start of every WP site. Too many plugins refuse to clean uninstall. I like Advanced Database Cleaner to see orphaned tables and options. The tool helps to clean up those orphaned items to minimize the overall size of the database. So far, I have yet to run across any issues with this tool. Very glad I purchased the Pro version and integrated it into my stack.
